About Us: The human part of Forget-Me-Not Fairies
My name is Juliana-Antoinette Mostert. Wonderful to meet you!
I am a senior citizen who still have a passionate desire for LIFE, LAUGHTER AND LOVE!
Many years ago I studied Anthropology, Archaeology and Bantu Language at University. Somehow, an Art Diploma seemed a good idea, too.
I had the privilege of being "Teacher Julie" for many decades while teaching at Secondary Schools and Teacher's Training colleges where I taught mainly English and Art.
After a great many years, I’m still at it!
Through the whole of my Teaching Career I had the most wonderful White, Black, Colored and Oriental students.
I contracted Polio at the age of twenty, but this walking-handicap did not constrain my teaching-career, or my life, for that matter. For the last three years I use a wheelchair, out of my own choosing, because of a slight disbalance and being too slow for myself.
OF VERY BIG IMPORTANCE TO ME...
I am a Child of Africa! Together with my husband of a lifetime, I have traveled extensively in Africa. Our continent inspired me to write the following:
AFRICA'S CHILD!
AFRICA DOES NOT BELONG TO ME...
BECAUSE...
I belong to Africa!
As you will clearly see,
Africa is part of me!
Join me! Join me!
All today
In my true heart's
dedicated way!
I am a child of Africa
Born strong and free!
My heart belongs to the
Wide-open spaces,
And all the people
Of the far-off places!
Join me! Join me!
All today
In humble gratitude's
only way!
Through the passages of time,
our hearts beat the pulsating rhyme!
We all belong to...
AFRICA!
Let's be
Faithful, strong and free!
Join me! Join me!
All today!
Rise up! Rise up!
We, your children, pray!
Now I have my little-folk companions as well.
More about our Magical Creatures:
When we refer to “one-of-a-kind”, it means every fairy (and elf) start as a
poured-porcelain “kit-form” being with all pieces separate.
They are then hand painted and porcelain
decorated before baking.
Each one creates itself into an individual character, fitting into a unique thematic scene. They wear individual costumes, handmade hair and often specially-designed wings. Ultimately, they become part of their own designed background and/or setting.
The fairy-folk are privileged to have a most interesting, very practical but also artistic lady as a technology-companion and a fairy godmother, Martie.
They also have Tobias, my old husband, as co-creator, maker of frames and scene setter.
As I create them, I fall in I love time and again, enjoy them and bond with each specific little character. I hope to share this experience with you, too.
